UIL Solo & Ensemble at Pasadena Memorial HS. We had a strong showing with over 70% of our solos earning 1st and 2nd division honors! That is a stat we have no been able to cross so far since we have been keeping stats for Solo contest!

Congratulations Madeleine Poulin on becoming an All-State Musician! Madeleine is a tremendous young performer and will be featured on the band's spring concert in a special Concerto for Horn with band.
The Band Spring Concert is Thursday May 11th at 7:00pm at Lee College.
The REL marching band won Best in Class at the USBands Baytown contest on October 8th, 2016.
The band also earned the best music, best percussion, best visual, and best overall effect awards!
On October 8th, 2016 the bands of REL and GCM will host a USBands marching contest at Stallworth. The contest will begin at 3:00pm and run through 10:00pm.

On Monday and Tuesday July 25th and 26th. We will be hosting 2 rehearsal days for the Madison Scouts. EVERYONE is invited to come watch them rehearse! The schedule is online at www.madisonscouts.org
On Monday (Memorial day), a record number of our band students participated in the Texas State Solo & Ensemble at UT-Austin. They represented us extremely well and made their school and themselves proud. We had several State medal winners!

The band program is proud to announce that last weekend our first band traveled to Dallas to perform at the world famous Meyerson Symphony center. The band earned superior ratings from the judges and was awarded “Outstanding in Class” for the festival.
This weekend our 2nd band traveled to U of H to perform at the Moore’s Opera House. The band performed very well and earned superior ratings from the judges and was awarded “Outstanding in Class” for the festival as well.

We apologize for the confusion and problems this may have caused, but the Spring Break was cancelled due to the weather by the GCCISD Admin. There is no good date for a re-schedule. This concert will have to wait until next year!
The REL band will be presenting its 2nd annual “spring break” concert on Tuesday March 8th at 7:00pm in the auditorium. Admission is free to all.

The band travelled to Lumberton to participate in the UIL Solo & Ensemble contest this past Saturday. We took a record number of entries, 80 solos and 9 Ensembles. We had a great success achieving all our goals that we re set ahead of time. 1. Decreasing the number of DNA's and ineligibles. 2. Increasing our 1st and 2nd division award winners. 3. Increase our number of State qualifying events. All these goals we re met by the kids!
